*Yayoi Kusama is a contemporary Japanese artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation. She is perhaps the most successful living female artist. Although Yayoi spent most of her childhood outdoors experiencing hallucinations, she has since become a legend. Flashes of light and dense fields of dots eventually inspired her signature motifs, particularly the polka dot. The contemporary artist has volunteered to live and work in a psychiatric hospital, proving that there are no limits to creativity.
